One of my very favorite friends lives in Austin. Lucky for me, she travels back to my little neck of the Oklahoma woods fairly often. Granted...there aren't really many wooded parts of Oklahoma, but that's besides the point. Tonight we are celebrating her belated birthday at a little hole in the wall Italian restaurant we all know so well and love.
I love my Austin Friend so much, even though we're quite different. She is blond-ish and I'm a very dark brunette. She is more liberal and I'm more conservative. She is a vegetarian or rather a pescetarianism , and well, I happen to enjoy a nice medium rare fillet every now and then. She's more hippie loose and flowery dresses and I'm more black dresses suit me fine, thank you very much.
My Austin friend and I, however, both love to laugh. She laughs while I hug her hard and she stands there somewhat stiffly. I laugh at her silly dances, and of course we both point and laugh at others. Obviously. We both enjoy having adult beverages and telling inside jokes. I mean that alone brings everyone together, right?!? We text each other several times a week and ask each other where we are, who are we with, or what did we have for dinner. (It's very important that I know what others eat for dinner for some reason or other.)
So, of course, your closest friends aren't necessarily exactly like yourself, but you love them anyway. What differences do you notice most with your closest friends?
